PREVENTION
In addition to providing case management, WRHAP’s mission is to reduce the number of new infections from HIV/AIDS through testing and education targeted toward prevention and keep our community healthy. Education and prevention activities make up an important part of WRHAP. Within the context of our history, mission and strategic plan, our staff concentrate their expertise on our extensive, intensive and proven prevention programs directed at youth and adults who are experimenting with or adopting drug use and sexual behaviors that put them at risk for HIV. WRHAP has provided 7000 people with prevention and education programs and services over the last four years. Additionally WRHAP’s NowUKnow Program works with parents, teachers, and school administrators to fulfill the educational promises made to our youth. Here is a break down of our prevention programs:
